Having flexible seating will allow for movement and sensory integration in the classroom. This will allow students with ADHD and other special needs to have the flexibility to move around and learn the way that works best for them. I am asking for lap desks, floor seating, and cushions. Not every student can sit in a plastic chair. Having my own children with special needs, I see the importance of having flexible seating in the the classroom. With these seating options, my students will be able to work in small groups in a non-traditional way. This will allow them to move and get their wiggles out while they work. Since it is difficult for many children to sit still for an extended time, flexible seating is a great way for them to get moving while learning.
