Who doesn't love to listen to a great book? I created this project in hope to provide a listening center with a library of stories for my students. Listening to stories allows students to improve literacy skills and comprehension. A listening center includes a CD player, audio book, headphones and a hard copy of the book for students to follow along with. This creates a fun reading experience, as well as students listen to a readers voice, fluency and practice comprehension skills. I am in need of a CD player, multiple headphones, and read-along books with audio. If my students had access to a listening center, they would experience reading in a new way by listening and following along to a great book! Experiencing a book in a variety of ways will allow my students to develop a greater love and interest for reading. The books I have chosen will provide my students with different types of text and allow all students to find a book they like. I would love to provide a listening center for my students this upcoming year!
