My special needs students will enjoy having comfortable, flexible seating where they can sit and read, complete work individually, or have a spot to take a moment away from the rest of the class. Flexible seating allows students to work in comfort and helps foster creativity. Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. This is extremely important in a special needs classroom. Not only does flexible seating look fun, it also creates a calm, relaxed environment. Students' stress levels can go down and they can continue to do their best work. This has been proven to help calm Autistic students.
