Our school is lucky enough to have a kiln, but let's be honest..it is highly underused. I just finished my 25th year of teaching, and I'm one of the few teachers that actually uses it. Unfortunately the supplies can be expensive. I would appreciate these ceramic supplies to bring our class together and build a community of creative learners. I want to inspire children to be the best they can be and see themselves as creative, courageous learners. Learning should be joyful! Art is a joy that transcends all cultures, backgrounds, and economic levels. One of my favorite artists, Henri Matisse, is quoted as saying, "Creativity takes courage." I love that quote and how it applies in our classroom where children need courage to succeed in our ever-changing world.
