One of the things that my students are constantly asking for is a chance to move around the more. I try and plan as many activities as I can to get them out of their seats, but sometimes they need to be seated. After some research we found several different options.
These students are always moving. One of the toughest times for them to sit still is when they are at small group where they need to be seated for approximately 20 minutes. Having the stools, discs, and yoga balls would give the students a chance to be able to move while remaining seated.
We are always trying to encourage our students to exercise more. Having this seating in the classroom will give the students a chance to move throughout the day, develop core strength, and work on active sitting. During brain breaks and indoor recess, students will also be able to use the disks and balls for exercises. Having these materials in our classroom will help them get even closer to moving 60 minutes a day!
While the children are using the different seating available in the classroom they will need an area to store their materials. The book boxes will not only provide and area for a students to store their things, but will also make it possible for students to carry them around the class.
