We need to have these materials, so we can plan for small group experiments to analyze physical properties of matter. For example, they could calculate the mass of an object with the triple beam balance, the volume using the graduated cylinders, and investigate changes caused by heat using the hot plate. Learning science through hands-on activities, make the concepts come to life for these kids that may otherwise never have an opportunity to experience it. Our school has very limited science resources. The 8 triple beam balances the school owns have to be share among 12 classes in three different grade levels. This is a very complicated issue when we all cover the same units during the same time of the semester. My students will incredibly benefit from having this resources in the classroom to share with other 2 classes instead of 12. Please help us achieve our goal!
