This year we are focusing on flexible seating in our 3rd grade classroom. These seating options will give students a choice in the kind of learning space that works best for them. I want my students to be comfortable in their learning environment. Students will be able to wiggle while they work by bouncing on a stability ball, fidgeting on a hokkie stool or balance cushion, jiggling a bouncy band with their feet, and even read comfortably on a soft pillow. This type of environment allows students to move while learning which in turn increases motivation and is linked to higher academic performance.

About my class
