Audio books on CD will be extremely beneficial in our classroom. Since more than half of my students do not speak English at home, listening to books on CD will be a great way to help them with the English language, and also for those students who struggle with reading. Providing books on CD to follow along with will give my students a fantastic opportunity to use their imagination, model good reading, introduce as well as teach new vocabulary, teach critical listening skills, build background knowledge, and make connections throughout the book. Audio books can help students who struggle with reading and change their perspective about reading into a positive one. These books will be a great asset to our everyday literacy rotations and I already know it'll be a favorite in our classroom.
