We are developing interdisciplinary units with a theme of force and change. This theme will serve as an example of our efforts to unify our curricular focus throughout the building. Primary students have a natural inquisitive nature that we foster at LSW STEM. These supplies would add value to our primary program. The primary labs will focus on manipulations of materials to cause change, manipulate motion and identify uses of force in their daily lives. In order to make this experience beneficial, primary students need age appropriate materials in order to own and participate in these inquiry based experiences. We will be creating pendulum paint projects, and identify the relationship between kinetic & potential energy as it relates to force with the roller coaster. Students will also design their own experiments with the Lakeshore materials.
