My students LOVE our listening center. It has a folder full of QR codes for them to scan and choose a story from, and a school-assigned iPad for them to watch it on. Unfortunately, our listening center materials are old, outdated, and deteriorating. Our listening block doesn't work half the time, the headphones only work out of one ear (and only when you twist the plugs the right way), and there are not enough chairs for them to sit on. The listening center headphones and block will help us have functioning materials to use at our listening center, and the foam will aid in my milk crate chairs project. I want my students to have working resources, and enough chairs to help grow their love of reading. There is always a shortage of chairs in the room, and some of the students have to sit on the floor to listen to their stories. The foam will be cushy under their tushies, and will offer them a real place to sit while their enjoy being read to.
