These textbooks will help my students be able to engage in and learn about historical events, especially those that have recently happened. They are excited to use new books, and enjoy working out of the ones we have, but they are old, in bad condition, and don't cover the most recent events, including 9/11. My students need textbooks; ours are about twenty years old. The school district does not have money to buy new books. The students enjoy using the textbooks, and working out of them but with the outdated information it is hard to always bring them into the context and standards. Having these supplies will increase students engagement and productivity. The students will be able to see how history connects with them more in their lives when they see how history connects to more current events.
