These materials will maintain social distance for students. Each student will have a designated area assigned to them using yoga mats to define their space. The flexible seating arrangement in my classroom will allow for "wiggle room" for kindergarten-fifth graders! This will give me the opportunity to provide counseling and teach social-emotional skills while maintaining safe space between students in my counseling classroom. The alternative seating model will promote a fun yet safe way for students to learn! This is a difficult time as COVID-19 is still an ongoing fear for many of us. Reminding students that there are ways we can prevent or decrease infection by the use of new furniture and social distancing will ease students, parents, and teachers worries. I want to continue to be able to support all students, parents, and teachers.
