Currently, my students can read about electricity and magnetism in a book. They might retain some of the information. I can stand in front of them and teach them about a circuit and tell them how it works . . . or they can discover it themselves. I believe that hands-on science is the BEST way to teach science. Students need to question, hypothesis, experiment, test, observe and analyze using real materials to gain stronger knowledge about the subject. By using the energy and magnetism kit, my students will be active learners, engaged in their assignment and will be more likely to retain the information that they are presented.
