I teach third grade in a high poverty school district. I would like to give my students every advantage possible. I am requesting 20 pairs of headphones and a cassette player that would allow 8 students at a time to listen to grade level books. This listening center would be used to model appropriate tone and fluency. Students will be able to access the listening center after class work is completed or while I am working with other small groups. Most of the students in my class are tier II and tier III and need as many different outlets as possible to make reading and learning to read fun and enjoyable. The headphones would also give us the opportunity to take advantage of Bookflix during our computer time or on the iPad in the classroom. They would also make our mandatory monthly STAR testing much easier. Our school district is the highest poverty rate, we are 100% free breakfast and lunch. Your donation to our school is much needed and would be greatly appreciated.
