My instructional arena is governed by mutual growth. Every lesson is created with the students in mind. Their needs and their desires are intricately woven into the fulfilling of state standards through the growth of the child overall. Project based learning is a major component of my classroom. Each is created based on the classroom's universal theme for the school year, with culminating activities that allow the students to tap into their own strengths. My goal for every student is that they leave with a greater understanding of their world and themselves and how the two influence each other, showing them how they can make a difference. I have an adulation board that has continued for the past two years where students can celebrate each other as my fight against bullying and negativity. My room is a safe haven for all students. We become a family, growing together as one.
