I am requesting some basic office supplies, such as pens and pencils, paper and binders, for my classroom to share with the students. The students will be able to organize themselves and feel good about having the proper supplies to fit in with their peers. Having these will motivate them to be successful students. They will feel good about themselves, at least while in an educational setting. It is important for them to have confidence, as they are special needs students and often suffer from self-esteem issues. This lack of confidence can make schooling more difficult. We plan on giving new backpacks and supplies to these students so that they will feel comfortable around their peers. It's hard enough having to deal with their unique emotional problems, and so we don't want them to also stress about having the right equipment to be successful in their education. Paper, pencils, binders, dividers, calculators, backpacks, etc.., will help my students feel prepared. Confidence is the biggest gift of all!
