We are in need of extra athletic supplies and I am requesting Spalding basketballs, volleyballs, dodgeballs, and Wilson soccer balls. Our ball inventory is drastically low for this school year. In addition, the equipment we do have is in poor working condition. Having adequate supplies for Physical Education makes exercising not only fun but helps build the fundamental loco-motor skills students need. Our PE equipment is also utilized for after school sports which offers students the opportunity to play volleyball, soccer and basketball in a competitive environment that encourages teamwork and team building. These programs also help keep students off the streets and increases their involvement in school. Often, student athletes become more involved in their academic performance just to maintain their eligibility for sports. Due to limited resources and lack of local establishments, children here in the South Phoenix area have less opportunities to engage in organized sports. Often, Physical Ed.classes serve as the only organized sports activity / exercise programs kids experience. Please fund our need for additional P.E.equipment. Thank you
