The books I am asking for will be used by my students to further their reading, writing, and vocabulary skills. They will become more knowledgeable about elements of reading, examples are: plot, theme, characterization, setting, protagonist and antagonist and other parts of reading. They will also be able to understand the many types of figurative language. They will use the written material in the books to recognize and distinguish between the different types of sentences, and parts of speech. These books can also be used cross curricular to teach the different time periods in history, and the different geographical regions found in these books which will be discussed.
