My students are currently porting their Chromebooks or iPads from their classroom to the resource room and back. Many of my students struggle with writing, revising, and editing their writing, but are having to manage the transportation of their computers from room to room. Chromebooks will allow my students to have access to the google docs, they are working on in their regular classrooms, thus seamlessly parallel their classroom activities. Having access to google docs provides them the ability to automatically save their work, view revisions and changes, work collaboratively with classmates, and share their work digitally with their teachers. For students who already face challenges, I hope to give them the tools that will allow them to easily access the curriculum and ensure our classroom remains culturally relevant in a digitally literate society.
