Having a stream table will help students in our area learn about how erosion changes the world around them. We live in a former coal mining area and much of our environment suffers from runoff of mine tailings. This stream table would help to make a visual mark on my students. By learning about erosion these students will be safer and better able to keep their community safe. They will better take care of the environment if they understand how it works. A stream table is a visual model that shows how streams meander. Moving water both erodes particles and displaces them to other locations where deposition can happen. Stream tables are hands on activities that can make students feel like they are playing when they are learning.
