Teaching in an inclusive classroom, I am given the opportunity to work with general education and special education students. More than 90% of my students are from low-income families that live in high poverty neighborhoods. My students face many challenges in school, at home and often in their communities. Each of my students are unique in their own way; learning styles, personal aspirations, behaviorally (mentally and physically). I cannot control what happens outside of school, but I have a great influence on their learning experiences in my classroom while in school.
