About my class

Biomimicry is a revolutionary science that studies natures design and applies them to human use. In Biomimicry for Biology students will be integrating their High School Biology curriculum as footing to participate in Biomimicry Challenge Project - where students innovate a solution to a problem using nature's design. To supplement their learning I need to provide students with up to date and current texts so that they can be inspired to innovate on their own. Although traditional Biology Classrooms use a textbook, I believe that students grasp reading and content and better when it is engaging and relevant to their work. Because of this I would like to provide by students with the book, Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature by Janine Benyus. Students will read sections of this book each day of class before diving into curriculum. This will provide students with the opportunity to connect their learning and be inspired by one of the foremost experts in the field of Biomimicry.
