In our class, students use whiteboards and markers daily in our math small group lessons. Using these items instead of pencil and paper makes the learning more fun and engaging. We will use the manipulatives in lessons to help the students build a conceptual understanding of the content. My students also have a digital component to their lesson. They use iPads to complete a goal of four lessons per week. We track their lessons on an incentive chart with stickers. Students that meet their goal are rewarded at the end of the week. This visual keeps students motivated and they work hard to accomplish their goal.
