Gaming fosters a collaborative environment and increases critical thinking skills while having fun! In today's climate, there is real career potential in gaming through esports, game creation, and coding. It is important students play model games to generate ideas and be inspired. Today's 21st century student has many interests. Connection classes allow students to explore those interests. I teach the Gaming and Technology course and am in the process of establishing gaming and technology as a realistic and viable option to add as a career, side hustle, or hobby. Simply put, students 'play' when they go to PE to explore their physical capabilities. My philosophy is students should have an opportunity to explore game creation through tech class as well.
