During the school year, my students will be using current events to start an exploration into other cultures around the world. The school year will begin with an analysis of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero and will cover the geography, language, politics, economy, religion, analyzing issues surrounding women and blacks in Brazil, music, and art. The unit will end with a project in which students will take a topic of interest more in depth. From there, we will travel to other countries in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. In order to help the students with these units, we are in need of basic classroom supplies!
