Redesigning my classroom with flexible seating options WILL enhance the student-centered environment. Giving my students the choice to find their best seating arrangement will allow them to stay focused and engaged in daily activities. My students need flexible seating options such as Exercise Balance Stability balls, Wobble Cushions, and bean bags. Second graders need to be able to collaborate, communicate, and express their creativity daily. Providing a more student-centered seating arrangement will allow for higher engagement between the students. Sitting in rows of desks and chairs does not necessarily encourage the 21st century learner. Flexible seating has many benefits for students. From improved behavior and better posture to higher academic performance, students will excel in this environment. Being flexible is the key to student success!
