My students need school supplies that will support them and lead them to success. Because my students are so socioeconomically disadvantaged, daily/weekly planners are not on their priority list of school supplies. In my personal and professional opinion, I believe these planners can and will be an essential tool for my students to use for time management, prioritizing projects, and ensuring that deadlines are met. In addition to teaching English, I want to teach my students to become independent and responsible individuals. I believe this gesture of providing them planners will encourage them to become organized and will hold them accountable to their responsibilities.
