STEM projects strengthen and reinforce critical thinking and collaboration skills in and out of the classroom. Many STEM projects involve teamwork and thoughtful dialogue where students give and take and discuss ways to problem solve. With regular access to STEM projects, students are given practice in perseverance, resilience and learning from mistakes. There is no such thing as failure with STEM, only opportunities to try again. STEM projects also give students who may not learn best through conventional methods a chance to excel and shine. My hope is to have a rotating selection of STEM bins available for students to use at leisure....an opportunity to learn in an unconventional way.
