While the main reason that you enroll your children to a school is to learn about academic subjects, these are not the only things that children need to learn if they want to become successful in the real world. Building character helps them to interact properly with their teachers and fellow students, turning their classroom into a better learning environment. The 7 Habits of Happy Kids books follow a group of friends as they learn the importance of being yourself, planning ahead, staying organized, finding your strengths, listening, working together, and valuing friendship. The Leader in Me book takes the 7 Habits of Happy Kids and teaches how to incorporate them in children's daily lives. The Character Education Resource Guide with related books are designed to help put an end to bullying and violence by focusing on and teaching positive peer interaction. These motivational readers allow you to double your instructional time by teaching children important character building values while promoting practice with their reading skills. Research done on the subject found out that schools that employ character education have fewer incidences of disciplinary referrals, suspensions, and truancy. The positive environment that it bought to schools also increased attendance and has also brought about a significant improvement in academic performance of the students. What children learn from character education will be useful to them as they engage and interact with other people in society. For them to become upstanding members of their communities, they need to know the proper way to treat other people, and these are the things that they learn and understand through character education.
