I only have a limited number of iPads in my classroom. Currently, not all of my students have iPads at home. We have had to have virtual learning because of COVID and some students were not able to do it at home. They miss out on learning and get behind. If each student had an iPad, all students would have an equal opportunity during virtual learning. Plus in class, every student could use a device at the same time. Students can also work as much as they want to further learning.
