First grade students will greatly benefit from a sturdy and safe mailbox system in our classroom to help them learn independence and foster confidence through classroom routines and organization. This mailbox system will help my students keep their materials safe and organized as well as teach them responsibility and pride in managing their classwork and homework folders on a daily basis. Even very young children take great pride in the achievement of independence which builds their own individual confidence and personal respect for their own, and their classmates', belongings. These are important skills that I value greatly for my first grade students. Confidence, respect and kindness are paramount in our classroom. This personal mailbox system will help foster cooperative teamwork as well as individual student independence. Thank you!
