As Eric Jensen describes in his book Teaching With the Brain in Mind, "the strong connections between physical education, movement, breaks, recess, energizing activities, and improved cognition. It demonstrates that movement can be an effective cognitive strategy to (1) strengthen learning, (2) improve memory and retrieval, and (3) enhance learner motivation and morale." "Movement is a natural part of the school day, that movement will influence the brains of students." We must not take this lightly. In order to learn and retain knowledge, movement has to be incorporated in every aspect of the day. The Hokki stools will enable the students to move as they are sitting and working. One student mentioned they were able to concentrate more while sitting on an atypical classroom chair.
