Our second and third grade students use technology on a daily basis, but don't understand how that technology actually works yet. By helping to fund this Makey Makey project, you'll help students gain an understanding of coding and circuitry that will help them become active, rather than passive, users of technology. This project will provide Makey Makey kits for each pair of students in the classroom and the students will be using their kits to create their own projects and complete coding challenges. They'll also use the kits in conjunction with Scratch, a coding website. We already have 5 Makey Makey kits in the classroom, so students have gotten a chance to explore how to use them and to create some of their own projects. By having a kit for each pair of students, students will have more time to use their Makey Makey kits and will be involved in more collaborative projects.
