While my big goal is to get to 1:1 technology for my students, we are starting with this request of ten new Chromebooks. People and processes are becoming increasingly driven by technology but there is a divide between who is learning, leveraging, and mastering the technology. These tools will give my students access so that they can learn, leverage and master the tools that will ready them to live successful lives in the 21st Century. In addition, with so many of the assessments being moved from paper to computer based, access to these tools on a regular basis will increase their familiarity and therefore help them achieve the outcomes that they desire. I want learning to come alive in my classroom for all scholars and technology definitely can help that happen. I would love to see scholars answering and responding to questions using education apps that allow them to interact more frequently in class and even with scholars beyond our classroom. I want scholars to be able to display their work in real time and receive peer feedback, edits, and recommendations during the creative process. I want to reach more scholars through the use of the many differentiation tools that are available when there is real time access to technology in the classroom. I want to be a 21st Century classroom where scholars see technology as a tool for learning, not just playing games or socializing. I want the scholars in my classroom to succeed. This will help them tremendously!
