I desperately want my students to be able to sit where they want. Or stand. Or bounce. Or lie on their bellies. Just as long as they feel comfortable and are productive. Collaboration is a skill that you can't have if you have rows of desks and you're all isolated. In the real world, people in real jobs collaborate with other people every single day, so that's really important to me. My students need balance balls, bungee chairs, kneeling pads, wobble cushions and bath mats to support flexible seating in my classroom and to have places to sit and work together and be comfortable while doing it. By funding this project, my students will be encouraged to take charge of their environment and have a sense of choice to foster their success each and every day.
