The students at my school are excited to embark on their journey as Robotics Engineers in our STEM Lab. Harnessing the power of hands-on robotics through this unit will encourage students to collaborate and communicate as they problem-solve together. Hands-on experience is crucial in constructing and debugging code and will help to strengthen students’ computational thinking. Students will develop resilience through failure as well as sharpen their STEM Fluency Skills (collaboration, communication, critical-thinking and creativity). Currently, our lab lacks the robotics equipment that will guide our understanding and act as catalysts for our engineering design process. We will need developmentally appropriate robots for our diverse population. Our brand new STEM Lab will use the items in the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Set for years to come, potentially reaching thousands of students in our community.
