Teaching online has become a new and profound way to teach students math. With the appropriate tools, I can help my students learn all they possibly can with math. A couple tools that I would appreciate include a dual monitor and a document camera.
These tools allow for great math instruction that will help my students stay focused and engaged throughout every lesson.
The portable dual monitor will help me to effectively teach math to my students online. Having a portable option for these monitors is ideal to maintain high engagement no matter where I may be teaching. Teaching lessons through the use of online programs while viewing students in our online classroom at the same time requires dual monitors. Without using multiple screens, longer delays and frustrations happen within the classroom. Three screens give me the option to view the teacher side of a program, the classroom of students on camera and chat, and a student view of the assignment that can be shared by whiteboard to the classroom.
The document camera is another tool that will accentuate my teaching. I will be able to use it to show math problems on paper and also show real math manipulatives when sometimes the virtual manipulatives are not the best option.
