The Takoma Park community we are a part of is such a special, unique place to grow up. Students are immersed in a diverse welcoming community. This affords us the opportunity to have one of the few sets of partner schools. At Piney Branch, we house over 700 students in grades 3-5. As they begin their three years at Piney Branch, it is my job to welcome my third graders and acclimate students. As a former primary grade teacher, it is essential students feel comfortable and confident as they begin their next three years in our special building. It's particularly special for me as I myself grew up attending swim practice in the same pool my students use. I love sharing in their journey as readers, writers, explorers, and of course swimmers! With your generous contributions I am able to continue to modify my classroom to meet the changing needs of students today.
