My class has had the opportunity to participate in a supplemental math computer software program that uses personalized lessons and research based learning paths to improve student skills and confidence through games and adaptive learning technology. This software adapts instruction based on each student's own understanding and learning trajectory. If a student struggles to understand a particular concept, the program delivers content and games designed to improve his or her fundamental understanding while allowing students to develop the necessary math skills at their own pace. Another opportunity students will gain will be towards literacy where they can participate in a software that utilizes a systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic awareness practice where children will see, hear, and interact with letters and sounds in words, sentences, and games. It will provide opportunities for child-directed instruction, build intrinsic motivation with its positive reinforcement sounds, and support English language learners by modeling fluent oral language and building vocabulary. Please help in building my vision to help children reach their full potential by using computer technology as a tool to enhance their educational process and prepare them for the future.
