We officially have an agriculture program at Waipahu Intermediate School and we just chartered the Waipahu Intermediate Future Farmers of America (FFA). We have two agriculture classes, one during school and one after school where we will have all sorts of individual projects going on all year long. And next school year our program will grow to five classes during the school day and one after school class. We are also the home of Waipahu Intermediate Youth for Safety, where we focus on the safety and well-being of youth through traffic safety and other safety issues. We focus on teaching the whole child where students learn through hands-on activities, leadership opportunities and community service projects and emphasize on empathy, compassion and selflessness.
