The Low Incidence teachers at our school would like to provide our students with special needs the basic materials that they need in order to learn best at home during remote instruction. In these unprecedented times, many parents face financial hardships which makes it challenging to purchase even basic school supplies. Our students learn best using hands-on materials that provide interactive opportunities to engage in their instruction. Providing our students with manipulatives and basic materials to have at home will help create more meaningful learning. For example, the use of dry erase boards throughout live instruction will afford our nonverbal students the opportunity to respond and engage. The linking cubes will assist with our specially designed, hands-on math instruction by providing our learners with the necessary manipulatives to problem solve.
