This year we are focused on a student centered learning environment to give students more choice and autonomy over their learning. Some students have a lot of difficulty staying in their seats. Most people are not able to sit a a desk for long periods of time. Students who are given more choice over their learning tend to enjoy learning more. I would love to give my students more seating options in our classroom. Some students need to be able to move around while they sit. They often rock on their four legged traditional classroom chairs, which can be very dangerous. Some students need the option to stand while they work. The taller desk and the ball chairs are some great alternatives to the traditional seating options. It is my goal that these items will help my students to focus and enjoy learning more.
