I would love to provide my students with the opportunity to use IPads in our classroom every day. The children could use the IPads throughout the day to review, practice, and enrich their learning. In Reading Workshop I try to give my students plenty of time and opportunity to read books that are engaging, whether it be because of level, genre, author, or topic. Having IPads in the classroom would provide them with more titles of books that they could read and listen to. The IPads could also be used during reading workshop to build automaticity in reading sight words and phrases. I have seen many apps that would be perfect for so many of my students! My students also spend time every day writing during Writing Workshop. Right now they use the traditional paper and pen. IPads would allow the children an opportunity to sketch, write, and even share their masterpieces electronically! The IPads would also be able to be used by the students every day during Math Workshop. My students rotate through stations during Math Workshop and the IPads would become a part of their rotations. The students will be able to review and practice math concepts, watch videos, and manipulate tools to enhance learning using the IPads. I can't wait to put IPads into the hands of my students!
