During our literacy block every day, students have the choice to go to a listening center. At this center, they are able to listen to books on their levels. Listening to reading is extremely important for emergent readers and ESL students. We currently do not have the ability to have more than 6-9 students go to listening a day. This project would help provide more listening centers and allow each student to participate in listening every week. Although, the main purpose of the tablets is to enhance literacy, they can also be used to enhance other areas of our curriculum.
