I'm privileged to work with inner city students in a college preparatory charter high school. Our typical student comes to us in 9th grade two to three years behind grade level. Eighty percent of them are from low-income families. We have implemented an extensive Advanced Placement (AP) program to provide our students with the rigor they will experience in college. Over 80% of our graduates matriculate to college, which is above the state average and over twice the rate of the metropolitan area we serve.
