My goal is to offer flexible seating in my classroom, and I would like to start my journey with Balance Balls. Sitting upright in a chair for a long period of time is challenging for me as an adult; I can only imagine how hard it is for many students. Two years ago I borrowed "yoga" balls for two of my students. I had two third grade boys that were facing some behavior issues, but it wasn't due to defiance, or not following rules, they simply could not sit still! The yoga balls made a huge difference! The boys were able to wiggle and move, without being a distraction to peers. Academically, both of them made tremendous gains. This project will have a strong impact on students that simply need to fidget while reaching their full potential in the classroom!
