Have you ever been sitting in a long meeting or class and thought to yourself "Gosh I wish I could move around!" or "This seat is sooooo uncomfortable!" Children experience this daily. Why should we make things more difficult and uncomfortable than they need to be? After all, the point of education is for them to be life-long learners who enjoy learning new things! With your contribution to this project, students who struggle with sitting in one place for a long period of time and/or have focusing issues will have an improved life in school. They will enjoy learning more and we will see increased grades as well. In fact, research shows that some of the positives that come out of flexible seating include: increased classroom interaction, positive increase in student's social ability, and higher test scores. If everything else is progressive, why should we have classrooms that look the same as they did 70 years ago?
