This year, we will be integrating the Writer's Workshop model into our English classroom, which will allow my students to incorporate their learning in a more authentic, engaging way. I have spent a lot of time this summer researching and planning for this upcoming school year, and all of the items requested already have a planned purpose. The literacy management chart will help remind students (and myself) where they should be and help us keep our groups running smoothly. Reusable write and wipe pockets will allow me to guide small groups in searching for and editing mentor texts without wasting a ton of paper. Pencils, erasers, pens, and glue sticks will enable my students to write and edit their work, as well as paste important notes into their writing notebooks. For my hyperactive or stressed learners, having access to something such as a fidget helps keep them busy without distracting other students from their work. Sheet protectors will allow me to share published work on our bulletin board and keep it safe. A new sharpener will help my students to be ready to write, and prevent me from having to send them down the hall to sharpen their pencils. By helping me provide basic supplies to equip our writing centers, my students will become more confident, independent writers who will be well-prepared for their future endeavors in the world. Many of my students come from households that cannot afford even basic supplies, so your donation will enable me to help furnish supplies to ensure the success of all my learners.
