Many of the families at my school struggle with consistently having their basic needs met at home. Subsequently, many students are not able to bring necessary school supplies. This results in not having full class sets of things, and running out of supplies midyear. I want to make sure that all my students have what they need to be successful.
Donations will help my student's learning. I plan to use the spiral notebooks, crayons, and glue to make interactive notebooks that will keep them engaged while they learn and develop a love of learning. The school boxes are important to keep the children organized so they will know where the supplies they need are. I feel that doing interactive notebooks will help the children understand abstract and hard to understand concepts. The post it notes will be used by me to comment on their notebooks. The students will use the Expo markers on individual white boards we already have. The composition books are going to be used as science notebooks to record results of science experiments. My hope is that by doing more engaging activities with the children, it will help in retention of the required knowledge for end of year testing. I want to instill a love of math and reading in each child and the desire to want to learn all their life.
