The goal of my project is to provide my students with a comfortable place to read and a rich classroom library that contains a variety of genres, specifically non-fiction topics. Non-fiction books in a classroom library are not only interesting for students, but reading non fiction literature also provides students the knowledge they need to be successful and meet Common Core Standards. Allowing students to explore and pursue their interests within a broad array of informational texts can help them to see that the real world can often be just as surprising and intriguing as make-believe. There is no greater feeling for a me than to watch my students get excited about reading!
